PSS files U.S. patent
The argentine company registered its INNERBOND® product line, a family of internal coatings that provide high mechanical resistance to steel pipes.
PSS is one of the leading companies in the region in the thermal coating of steel pipes for the shale oil activity. Among the other product lines that PSS has been developing, a family of internal coatings called Innerbond® stands out, which provides a high mechanical resistance for steel tubes that contributes to prevent corrosion, while at the same time substantially increasing the useful life of the pipes.
These coatings will be used in production tubing and oil and gas pipelines; focused on the production of Dead Cow, Permian and other U.S. shale oil fields.
The use of this technology is very promising and is in the current implementation stage.
Two years ago Innerbond® was patented and approved by the INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property) of Argentina, and in January 2018 it was presented at the office of the USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office) which granted PSS the exclusive U.S. patent. At the same time, this technology has been patented in Canada, Brazil and other European countries.
Expansion of the regional implementation is expected in the coming months, as one of the companies interested in these coatings is Petrobras of Brazil.
